"24: Live Another Day" season 2 is reportedly in the works as Fox CEOs are in talks with creative partners, but the movie adaptation is still in limbo.
In a report from Flickering Myth, the "24: Live Another Day" season 2 topic was raised during the recent Fall Launch party of the network as confirmed by CEOs Gary Newman and Dana Walden.
"We are talking about it, thinking about when would be the best opportunity for it. We are checking with our creative partners how much enthusiasm they have for doing another installment," they said about the "24: Live ANother Day" season 2 news.
Even if the ratings were not up to par with the expectations, network executives are still happy with the way things turned out.
"We were really pleased with this past season, just thought creatively it was top-notch. That was a great reward to the fans of the show who were ready to see more episodes of Jack Bauer, and it was a great financial endeavor for all of us - especially when you look at our businesses holistically, where it gave FBC a real shot in the arm in terms of ratings and viewers who were circulating on our network well into summer, and the studio, which made a lucrative SVOD deal around the event of bringing the show back," they said.
Nielsen said that the "24: Live Another Day" finale only generated 6.5 million views, which was less than the 9 million views in season 8 final episode. But once all platforms were counted, the last episode outdrew the season 8 finale when it generated 10.7 million views compared to 10.5 million last season.
Michael Ausiello dished out "24" TV series news after talking to a source who said that the studio Imagine Entertainment is coming around to making the feature film after highly successful "24: Live Another Day" series.
The chairman of Imagine, Brian Grazer, is reportedly interested in the idea although it has yet to be pitched to 20th Century Fox.
