He is one of the biggest actors in the world, and he one of the biggest rock stars. And news just came out that they might be working on a new film project together. Just days after the release U2's free new album through iTunes called "Songs Of Innocence," comes exciting Bono U2 news. The Irish rock singer will be collaborating with iconic actor Liam Neeson, who is also Irish on a film project.
We know well that the two are close friends. Liam Neeson has shared how he and Bono are good friends, and they had become especially close in the aftermath of the death of Neeson's wife Natasha Richardson, who passed away after a fatal skiing accident in 2009. Neeson related to Anderson Cooper of CNN how Bono would come around for dinner, and he talked to Neeson's sons about getting through the tragedy of losing a mom.
"You know, it could have been a hell of a lot worse. I'm name-dropping for a second. Bono is a pal, and he came 'round to have a dinner," the actor said. "And I remember he was sitting beside Micheal and, just out of the blue, he said, 'What age are you Micheal?' He said -- Micheal said, 'Thirteen.' And [Bono] said, 'Yeah, that's the age I was when I lost my mum.'"
"That was it. And it -- I -- I could've kissed him for it," Neeson added. "He was, like, saying, 'You know, I lost my mom at this age and I'm doing okay. And you will do okay, too.'"
Right now, the big Bono U2 news is that the singer and the Taken actor are working on a movie that they are both writing together. In an interview with The Independent, he shared, "[Bono and I] chat, or with him a lot of the time I just listen. He's a wonderful man."
"He's got an idea for a script which we've been working on for the past six years," the actor revealed. The film, he went on to explain, is about the Irish "showband" phenomenon of the seventies," he reveals.
