Casey Kasem's controversial wife Jean Kasem is again being blasted, this time by a woman claiming to be the nurse who cared for the late radio star. The registered nurse, named Susan Stromin, revealed that she is the one who looked after the widow's bed-ridden husband at their Beverly Hills mansion.
According to the report by Daily Mail, Casey Kasem's wife Jean Kasem allegedly owes registered nurse Susan Stromin up to $10,000 for looking after her then dying husband.
The nurse claimed in court documents that she cared for the "American Top 40" host between May 8 and May 11 this year. He was reportedly suffering from a progressive disease called Lewy body dementia.
Susan Stromin claims she "tended to bed-ridden Casey's every need", said the Daily Mail report.
A month later, Casey Kasem died on June 15. His corpse has been missing since then, and is now reportedly in Norway. According to the report fromThe National ENQUIRER, Jean Kasem is being accused by Kerri Kasem of pushing for a burial in Oslo, Norway, in order to escape elder abuse charges filed against her in the United States.
On top of the widow's piling controversies, nurse Susan Stromin is reportedly suing Casey Kasem's wife Jean Kasem a sum of $10,000 after refusing to pay her for services rendered.
The Daily Mail report detailed that the caregiver clocked in 42.5 hours of work at a rate of $75 per hour. The rendered services owed by Jean Kasem allegedly totalled $2,257.50, plus $6,742.50 for "balance of categories".
The registered nurse listed "unpaid wages, loss of work, loss of sleep, stress, deceit, physical strain" as the reasons behind her lawsuit, which was filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court on August 29.
A trial has been set for November 10.
Casey Kasem's wife Jean Kasem was reportedly not served with the legal papers, thus postponing the case. Court documents said, according to the Daily Mail report: "Defendant (Jean) was out of state, and out of country. Need enough time for legal service (s)ince she has returned to California."
