Lyoto Machida's next fight has been set against C.B. Dolloway. Meanwhile, UFC middleweight contender Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza has also expressed his desire to face "The Dragon."
In a report by MMA Fighting, Lyoto Machida's next fight will take place on December 20th in his home country of Brazil. The entire fight card has yet to be revealed, but it will be for UFC Fight Night 58.
"The Dragon", who is also a former UFC light heavyweight champion, has been successful in his middleweight stint so far since his drop to the division in October 2013.
After scoring a first round head kick knockout victory against former teammate Mark "The Filipino Wrecking Machine" Muñoz, he coasted through a decision victory against former Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi, en route to a title shot against reigning champion Chris Weidman.
Unfortunately for Machida, he was unable to achieve victory against Weidman, as he lost a unanimous decision during their encounter at UFC 175 in July.
Lyoto Machida's next fight is seen as a return to title contention for "The Dragon", as he faces former Ultimate Fighter competitor C.B. Dolloway. Dolloway has won four of his last five fights in the UFC.
His most recent victory was against former top ten middleweight Francis Carmont, which won a Performance of The Night Bonus at UFC Fight Night 41 in May in Berlin, Germany.
Meanwhile, middleweight contender Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza has also expressed his intentions to face Lyoto Machida. "Jacare", who recently defeated Gegard Mousasi via third round knockout earlier this month, believes facing his fellow Brazilian would fast track his way to a title shot.
"I'm a employee of UFC and today I'm close to fight for the belt," Souza told Brazilian publication Globo. "This is undeniable. But I could scrunch Lyoto. It could happen, but I'm in the line for the title and this is my focus."
