"The Last Ship" season 2 spoilers hint that the crew will work better for the good fo the world as the series will go off to a new direction when it resumes.
Executive producer Steven Kane teased "The Last Ship" season 2 spoilers to Zap2it as he gives a preview of what the world will be like now that the vessel is now back in the United States.
"We're also going to see what the world looks like and what these guys have to do with this new reality. It's a world-building thing," he said, adding that the second season will have the crew facing "a whole new palate and a whole new set of problems and adventures."
Cartermatt revealed more "The Last Ship" season 2 spoilers as it said that the show will return in the summer of 2015, owing to the good performance of the series this year so TNT will not mess up with its lineup too much.
"We actually feel like they will be more likely to move the final season of "Falling Skies," given that they could use this show and its audience more effectively as a lead-in," it said.
Although no hint of the plot has been leaked yet, the website added that it's likely that there "will be less tension" since Chandler has already proven himself as a more than capable leader whom the leader can rally behind.
"With that, we expect a second season to expand the world of the show somewhat, introduce us to new, interesting characters, and have us wonder if there is a way for the world to ever be restored again," it added about possible "The Last Ship" season 2 spoilers.
This was also what showrunner Hank Steinberg promised in the Zap2it article as he said: "Season 1 ends with a complete cliffhanger turn that upends the whole series. It drives the series to a whole new direction."
