In the latest Star Wars Episode 7 cast news, another A-list actor is reportedly gunning for a role in this reboot by director J.J. Abrams. James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, according to the The Sun, has requested for a cameo in the upcoming movie. The Sun reports that Craig has actually begged the director even for a bit role in the movie.
If the report from The Sun is to be believed, the James Bond star has actually gone on to film this mystery role in UK's Shepperton Studios. Apparently, even if Craig is actually in the film, fans won't even notice that it is The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo actor because he will be heavily made up or wearing a mask as an alien or another Star Wars creature.
This Daniel Craig news is just the latest in a series of Star Wars 7 cast rumors that have been circulating lately. The most intriguing one was of Shaun Of The Dead actor Simon Pegg reportedly also filming for a mystery role in the sci-fi epic. Simon Pegg and director J.J. Abrams had previously worked on Star Trek and Mission Impossible together so this rumor was not too much of a stretch. Besides, IGN Middle East filed a report that This was fueled that the comedian had visited the Star Wars set when it was filming in Abu Dhabi.
Pegg himself did nothing to deny the Star Wars 7 cast rumors. In an interview with Vulture, the actor said, "Well, J.J. uses me in different roles, and we're good friends. I feel like my face in Star Wars would pop people out of the movie. Look, I love Star Wars, and I don't want people to watch and go, 'Oh there's Simon Pegg's face. The film is cleverly cast with these amazing unknown actors." Which fans interpreted as the actor playing a role that would involve not actually seeing his face, just like Daniel Craig's alleged role.
