Viewers who have long been awed and intrigued by the cryptic island where King Kong hailed in the "King Kong" movie will soon have the chance to learn its secrets when the "Skull Island" movie hits theaters.
Hallels shared the wonderful news, confirming not only the production of the "Skull Island" movie, but also clarifying that it is a prequel, not a sequel. The isle that housed gigantic creatures in the same league as King Kong debuted along with the legendary ape in 1933.
The mist-shrouded place, which seems to have been trapped in the prehistoric era, is home to monsters of various species. In the King Kong reboots, the island was identified as either "The Beach of the Skull" or Kong's island.
The Guardian has confirmed that British actor Tom Hiddleston known for his role as "Loki" in "Thor" and the "Avengers" will be playing the lead role. Does this mean he would be playing the good guy this time around? No details regarding his role has been released as of yet. But for the "Skull Island" movie, he and the rest of the cast would be working under the direction of Jordan Vogt Roberts.
In the teaser, viewers revisit the legendary island. Awesome scenes, which were featured in the 2005 King Kong remake, were shown. These included images of King Kong, prehistoric dinosaurs and the enormous monstrous plants that thrive on it. As mentioned by The Guardian, no other information about the island was revealed in the teaser. They could have done this intentionally to arouse interest.
The site relayed the information taken from reports that the movie is an origin's tale, which centralizes on the secrets lurking in the iconic gorilla's perilous habitat. The movie produced by Legendary Pictures is slated for release on November 4, 2016.
