Alicia Keys was pregnant and beaming at a surprise party that she organized for her husband, Swizz Beats. Rappers DMX and Puff Daddy were among the special guests at the party, which has a "Coming To America" theme.
According to a report from Stargist, the music producer's 36th birthday party earlier this week embodied elements from the movie "Coming To America" - complete with a gold and velvet motif around Capitale in New York.
The party organized by Alicia Keys even while she is already heavily pregnant pulled no stops as she hired African drummers and professional dancers to re-enact the classic 1988 Eddie Murphy film.
The birthday celebrant sat on a throne and reprised the lead role of Prince Akeem. His parents played King Jaffe Joffer and Queen Aoleon of Zamunda, said a report from E!Online.
Special guests included rapper DMX and hip-hop mogul Puff Daddy, E!Online added.
Swizz Beats took to Instagram to rave about his grand birthday celebration. According to Stargist, the proud husband shared photos and videos of the party, with one captioned: "party was Epic thx to all my fam & Friends for a timeless moment I'm still in shock..."
The hip-hop star also thanked his wife Alicia Keys for staging the huge event: "My wife is awesome thx my love for the best Bday party everrrrrrrrrerr #comingtoamerica..." one post read.
