Latest news about Sherri Shepherd speaks about the legal battle over the surrogate baby with estranged husband Lamar Sally. While Sally graced an interview with People magazine saying that he and Shepherd agreed to have the baby via surrogate, the daytime host remained silent about it in public. Instead she vents out to her friend Wendy Williams. "We don’t talk but I’m on my knees praying a lot for him," she told Wendy Williams about her ex as reported by ABC. "I have a lot of lawyers... and it’s very public and it’s very painful. For me, I’m not Tori [Spelling] and Dean [McDermott]: I'm not paid to talk about my life." Meanwhile, in an interview with People, Sally recalled that he and Shepherd agreed to have a child via surrogate using his sperm and a donor’s egg after medical experts found that Shepherd’s eggs were not workable for a year since their wedding in 2011. "[Sherri] said, 'I will love the baby like it's mine,'" says Sally. Reportedly, Sally says that six months into pregnancy “blindsided him with the news that she wanted a divorce.” Still, "she never said she didn't want the baby," says Sally. According to People, Sally is appealing for the former daytime talk show host, who recently went through custody battle over her 9-year-old son, Jeffrey, with ex-husband Jeff Tarpley, to be named as the mother on the baby’s birth certificate. The Los Angeles based writer said that Shepherd has never met the baby. "I think it's the worst thing in the world for L.J. to look at his birth certificate at 16 and see it says, 'Mother unknown,' " says Sally. Sally and Shepherd are now battling over financial responsibility for baby “L.J.” and a pre trial hearing is set for October 2 in Pennsylvania. According to People, Shepherd and her reps did not comment about the matter.
