Melissa Rivers news reported that Joan Rivers' daughter has finally spoken up after the late comedy icon's untimely death last September 4.
According to Melissa Rivers news reported by Fox, the 46-year-old daughter and only child of Joan Rivers issued her official statement recently.
"As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media," she expressed.
Melissa Rivers said that her mother "would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her."
"It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time," Joan Rivers' daughter added, reported by Fox news.
In a related Melissa Rivers news, "Fashion Police" recently announced that the show is confirmed to return after the death of its iconic host.
In an official statement issued by E! Network, as reported by ABC News, the decision came after the network received the blessing from Melissa Rivers to officially continue the show.
The late comedienne's daughter is also an executive producer of "Fashion Police".
ABC News published the statement, which read: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Joan Rivers and, for the last two weeks, have turned our attention to honoring her memory on all of our platforms."
The "Fashion Police" update continued: "We have also thought long and hard about what Joan would have wanted as it pertains to the future of Fashion Police. We decided, with Melissa Rivers' blessing, that Joan would have wanted the franchise to continue."
According to ABC News, the show will return in January 2015 when it covers the Golden Globe Awards.
