What do Dan Stevens, Benedict Cumberbatch and Elijah Wood have in common?

Face-wise, people can easily say Dan Stevens, Benedict Cumberbatch and Elijah Wood are easy on the eyes - and speaking of eyes, all of them have blue peepers, with Dan and Elijah being a similar shade of pale blue while Benedict's are blue-green (IMDB). Also, they are all popular and talented actors in their own right.

But none of these similarities could compare to the eerie fact that Dan Stevens, Benedict Cumberbatch and Elijah Wood have all played the role of a killer. Twisted in different ways with individual agenda, the actors' murderer characters detailed below have brought out their respective acting prowess to the fore.

Dan Stevens as David the dangerous interloper in "The Guest"

New York Times shared how well the "Downtown Abbey" actor played out his role of a cold-hearted killer disguising himself as a sympathetic visitor of the Peterson family. He first appeared in their lives during their soldier son's funeral, claiming to be a comrade. Manipulative and calculating, he effortlessly eased into their lives until the fateful day the daughter decided to act on her suspicions and do a bit of research on his past.

Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan in "Star Trek: Into the Darkness"

Io9 shared Benedict's revelation that he might just be returning as Khan in the next Star Trek sequel. However, although there are no updates regarding this, true enough, The "Sherlock" star played the role of Khan in the 2013 "Star Trek: Into the Darkness", reported IMDB. Of the three actors discussed here, his role in the sci-fi flick did not necessarily force him to go on a mad, bloody killing rampage like the others, murdering victims one at a time. But being the killer Lygo identified him to be, he was dangerous alright...

Elijah Wood as Frank in "Maniac"

The only American actor (Dan and Benedict are British.) of the three, Elijah stunned audiences with his portrayal as Frank, a twisted mannequin shop owner and serial killer who scalps his female victims, in "Maniac" (IMDB). According to Cinema Blend, the controversial horror film, which is a remake of a 1980 grindhouse cult classic, was banned in New Zealand save for film festival events. Who would have thought kindly Frodo Baggins with his youthful demeanor could be so messed-up?
