"Horns" movie release date picked the most opportune time for horror thriller flicks as it falls on Halloween (release date in the UK and US), which is just more than a month from now.

Hallels reported that the American-Canadian movie, which was filmed the previous year (2013), is based on a bestselling novel with the same title written by Joe Hill. It is a horror thriller possessed with not only seriously dark tones, but also romance with fantasy.

Movie Moron ranked the movie as the fourth must-watch horror flicks of the year. The "Horns" movie release date coincided well with the plot of the story, which revolved around the horrific transformation that made a commoner into something out of this world.

Daniel Radcliffe sheds his inherent British accent for the film in exchange for an American twang. He portrays the role of a commoner in question who wakes up to a most unusual event following a night spent boozing and wasting himself: He grew horns.

With his horns came an uncanny devilish power that lets him extract truth from anyone, compelling him or her to fess up. Also, he can make them lose their inhibitions and yield to their urges. As it turned out, the young man turned devil had just gone through a most heartbreaking experience. He had just lost his girlfriend who was raped and murdered by unknown assailants.

Does his transformation have anything to do with the recent tragedy in his life? That movie goers will find out once they see the thriller whose scenes were shot in Vancouver, Squamish and Mission, reported Hallels.

Alexandre Aja takes on the director's helm. Daniel Radcliffe spearheads a cast of notable actors and actresses that include Juno Temple as his girlfriend, James Remar, Kelly Garner, Heather Graham, Max Minghella and Joe Anderson among others.

With the "Horns" movie release date on October 31, fans get to see the former Harry Potter star again on the big screen. This time, however, he takes on a dark and mature role as he trades his famous wand for a pair of mean-looking horns.
