Which tablet device is the ideal purchase for consumers? We compare the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 against the LG G Pad 8.0 to see which is better.

In terms of design and display, the LG G Pad has an 8inches display (IPS LCD), a resolution of 800x1280pixels and a pixel density of 189ppi. The good thing about LG’s tablet is that the screen supports multi touch and comes with light sensor technology and its exterior is similar to many of the LG smartphones. Its dimensions are 210.8×124.2×9.9mm and it weighs 342 grams, being 411grams lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, which comes with these sizes: 295.6x204x8mm.

The Samsung tablet has a Super clear LCD display of 12.2inches, which supports a much higher resolution of 2560x1600pixels and 247ppi. It’s very stylish on the outside and it features the famous S Pen stylus.

For the hardware and OS, the LG G Pad 8.0 is equipped with a quad core 1.2Ghz Cortex A7 processor, which is backed up by a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset and it uses an Adreno 305 GPU.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 has a more powerful processor quad core 2.3GHz Krait 400, which teams up with a new generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset.

The LG tablet runs on the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) OS, but having only 1GB of RAM makes it a low-end device. The Samsung tablet on the other hand, runs on a previous Android KitKat version 4.4, but it has a 3GB of RAM and has 4G.

Both of the tablets support up to 64GB of internal storage, but only that the G Pad 8.0 comes with 16GB of internal memory, while the Note Pro 12.2 is available in two variants: 32 and 64GB.

For battery and camera specs, both tablets have non removable batteries however, the G Pad 8.0 has a Li-Ion 4200mAh battery, which is below average, while its rival has a Li-Ion 9500mAh battery offers a long lifespan.

The Samsung tablet stand out with its 8MP shooter with 3264×2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash, face and smile detection, geo tagging and video recording at 1080p@30fps, plus a 2MP front camera with video recording at 1080p@30fps.

The LG model has only a 5MP rear camera with 2592х1944pixels, autofocus, face detection, panorama, geo tagging and video recording at 1080p. The secondary camera is 1.3MP and it record videos at 720p.

The LG G Pad 8.0's price tag has not been announced, while the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 cost $850.
