Talk show host Tavis Smiley is the second contestant to be booted off "Dancing With the Stars" and he has some harsh words to say to the reality show's producers.
Following his elimination, Smiley was interviewed by People Magazine and he explained that it was somewhat the producers fault he was ousted.
"Producers shouldn't sign up people who can't commit the time when they are told up front that the person is going to be on a book tour. We gave them the entire book-tour schedule in advance! This is not about sour grapes. It's about saying I think the fans deserve to have stars on this show who have time to commit to learning the dances so partner Sharna Burgess and other professionals don't waste their time trying to do something that's just humanly impossible," Smiley explained.
Smiley and his partner Burgess only had a total of ten hours to prepare last week and this definitely showed in their performance, the Daily Mail reported.
One of the judges, Len Goodman took notice and said, "I know you've had a tough week, but unfortunately it showed."
Following his untimely exit, Smiley said, "I do not live a life of regrets. It's been a wonderful experience. I loved it."
Smiley was sent home ahead of former NASCAR champion Michael Waltrip who scored four points less than Smiley and his partner.
"I think part of what fans may have been saying tonight was, 'Why keep Tavis around if he doesn't have the time to really dedicate to this? Some people thought that Michael didn't have his best last night. And he wasn't the best. His scores were lower than ours, that's the fact. But I think the fans can see that Michael is here, and he has time to actually commit to this. He's not on a book tour," Smiley explained.
