"24: Live Another Day" season 2 news reveals that FOX Network is just waiting for the best opportunity to bring back Jack Bauer as Kiefer Sutherland talked about his fears for his character.
Both FOX executives Gary Newman and Dana Walden talked about the "24: Live Another Day" season 2 news as they claimed that a renewal is very much on the table, said the report from Flickering Myth.
They claimed that executives are talking about it and just waiting for "the best opportunity for it." Right now, studio execs are talking to their creative partners to gauge their enthusiasm for another installment.
They claimed that they were happy with the ratings last season. But ultimately, a renewal would be a "great reward" for the fans.
"It was a great financial endeavor for all of us - especially when you look at our businesses holistically," the execs added.
Earlier, executive producer Jon Cassar revealed "24: Live Another Day" season 2 news when he said that there could be more adventures for Jack Bauer in the future, according to TVGuide.
He said that the ending of the past season was still open and it's meant to be that way, since fans realize that Jack Bauer is still out there even if he's in the hands of the Russians.
According to Nielsen, the "24: Live Another Day" finale only generated 6.5 million views, which was less than the 9 million views in season 8 final episode. But once all platforms were counted, the last episode outdrew the season 8 finale when it generated 10.7 million views compared to 10.5 million last season.
Reportedly, 1.3 million of the views came from fans who watched the finale through the Hulu, FOX Now and video-on-demand platforms.
Meanwhile, Xpose Entertainment dished out more "24: Live Another Day" season 2 news when it said that Kiefer Sutherland already missed playing the character Jack Bauer.
"My biggest fear about Jack was, 'Can we produce the standard the fans have been sued to?' I still feel there are more stories to tell," it said.
