The new Ben Affleck movie Gone Girl is set to debut in cinemas on October 3, and fans of the book are expecting a faithful adaptation to Gillian Flynn's bestselling crime drama based on the first couple of reviews that have been published. If so, we expect the actors to be quite close to their book counterparts, and from the looks of the Gone Girl film cast, both Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike have nailed their roles as married couple Nick and Amy Dunne.
But what about the rest of the actors? We have Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), as Desi, Amy's obsessive ex-boyfriend, as well as Tyler Perry as the ultra sleek attorney Tanner Bolt. But the real breakout star among the Gone Girl film cast could very well be Emily Ratajkowski, in her role as Andy Fitzgerald, a student of Nick Dunne's.
The actress/model was recently featured in Vanity Fair magazine's latest issue, and she shared some juicy tidbits about her role, and her own personal life. The 23 year old model has had to clear people's misconceptions about her nationality, because of her unusual last name. She is in fact British-American, but more often people expect her to have an unusual accent. "People either think I have a crazy Polish accent or a British accent; then I say 'gnarly' and surprise everyone."
Before nabbing the role of Andie, as part of the Gone Girl film cast, Emily shot to fame with her appearance in Robin Thicke and Pharrel's "Blurred Lines" video. But she says getting to play Andie was a dream come true. "I didn't want to act in high school because I was sick of auditioning for Nickelodeon, Disney mean girls, or the cheerleader," the actress shared. "I came back to it when I had enough leverage to pick and choose. I got a dream role in a dream film."
She also said it was a great time working with acclaimed director David Fincher, "I worked really well with David because I was ready to be a student and he is the best teacher," Emily shared. "He wants to do a hundred takes and I want to do them for him."
