Mischa Barton news have revealed how the former teen star seems to be focusing more on building an international career instead of taking on US projects. 'The OC' actress is reportedly in Turkey for a film festival following a recent movie shoot in India.
According to a report from Hurriyet Daily, Mischa Barton is all over news shows in Turkey after she arrived in the province of Adana for the 21st Golden Boll Film Festival.
During the said event, she was reportedly gifted with a traditional Adana golden bracelet by the town's head, Mayor Hüseyin Sözlü, and his wife Zeynep Sözlü.
The said piece of jewelry is customarily given to brides and female guests based on Turkish tradition, said the Hurriyet Daily report.
Aside from her appearance at Turkey's 21st Golden Boll Film Festival, recent Mischa Barton news reported that she will be part of an upcoming Indian movie.
According to a report from Hindustan Times. the said Indian movie is entitled "Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain" and will star alongside Martin Sheen. The film is about the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy, considered as one of the biggest man-made disasters of all time.
Mischa Barton news revealed that she will play the role of an international lifestyle reporter. Her character will help an Indian journalist who exposed the threats of having a pesticide plant in their city, said the Hindustan Times report.
"Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain" is directed by Ravi Kumar and produced by Sahara Movie Studios. It is scheduled for international release on December 5.
Daily Mail also reported that the 28-year-old was in UK last month to head a nationwide campaign to find Britain's most stylish vaper for e-cigarette brand VAPESTICK.
The actress' participation in international projects somehow shows how she is no longer prioritizing her US career.
The former Hollywood It Girl's current projects are a far cry from her popular portrayal of lead character Marissa Cooper in the hit series "The O.C.," a role that she admitted she regrets taking.
Mischa Barton explained to Metro that her role in "The O.C." was something she "came so close to not doing."
"I had a really great thing with film. People say be grateful for what you have but it certainly not the kind of thing I was expecting it to be... I've kind of seen it all," she says.
When asked if she would do it all again, Mischa Barton admitted to Metro: "probably not", saying how her fast rise to fame made her "depressed and overworked".
