The identity of Benedict Cumberbatch's girlfriend has been a hot topic among fans recently.

According to The Mirror, the 38-year-old actor enjoyed a play at the National Theatre with his rumored girlfriend late last month. They went out a second night, this time, to a 'Back To The Future' screening at London's Secret Cinema.

Almost a month later, the mystery brunette's identity has finally been revealed. The Sunday Mirror, via Daily Mail, reported that the 'Star Trek' star has been smitten by theatre director Sophie Hunter.

The couple first met when they starred together in the 2009 film 'Burlesque Fairytales.' He was still dating Olivia Poulet at that time.

Does she meet the standards set by the 38-year-old's sister for his future girlfriends?

"You have to be a pretty smart cookie to keep up with him," Tracy Peacock-Tabernacle previously said. "He is such a lot like Sherlock-he is quick thing like him, but not harsh. He's incredibly well read. In comparison to some he is quite an intellectual."

Nothing to worry about there; Hunter seems to have a very impressive resume.

The 36-year-old Oxford graduate has delved in TV and film but is currently in love with theatre. According to Fashion and Style, she is also a skilled pianist, equestrian, and singer.

Benedict Cumberbatch's girlfriend can also speak fluent French. She reportedly released a French-language album with Guy Chambers called 'The Isis Project.'

The couple were first photographed attending the French open in June of this year. When Hunter's mother was asked about the romantic connection between Cumberbatch and her daughter back then, she only gave a cryptic answer.

"Watch this space. You never know," Anna Hunter allegedly answered.

According to the Daily Mail, Cumberbatch and Hunter have only started dating officially for a couple of weeks.
