More exciting news for this upcoming Benedict Cumberbatch movie! The Imitation Game released a new exclusive character poster featuring a full shot of the Sherlock actor's face!
The movie revolves around the real life story of English mathematician and logician Alan Turing, who helped in the second war efforts by cracking the renowned Enigma code. The Enigma code, according to the trailer, is "an unbreakable Nazi code" which would help the Allied Forces win the war. Cumberbatch plays Turing, who is a conflicted genius, plagued by personal issues that will eventually lead to tragic consequences.
Turing was actually an exceptional figure, a hero of WWII. Even Winston Churchill himself acknowledged that the mathematician helped save thousands of lives with his efforts in breaking the Nazi code.
Tragically, the genius was prosecuted for his homosexuality after the war ended, and he eventually died of cyanide poisoning two years later. Just last year, Turing was finally awarded the royal pardon.

Keira Knightley is a co-star, as well as Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones) and Allen Leach (Tom Branson in Downton Abbey). It is directed by Morten Tyldum, a Norwegian film director who has won a BAFTA for Best Foreign Language film.
