"Chicago Fire" season 3, episode 2 spoilers reveal that Shay's death will affect Severide and Lindsay more than what is seen in the surface, as Dawson is still waiting to become an official member of Firehouse 51.

NBC has released official "Chicago Fire" season 3, episode 2 spoilers, per Christian Post with a synopsis which reads: "Boden (Eamonn Walker) and the rest of the Firehouse 51 team deal with the explosion's aftermath in the Season 3 opener. Meanwhile, Casey searches for Severide, who's gone missing; Newhouse has surprising news about Mills' family; and Hermann and Otis make a decision about Molly's."

It's revealed that Dawson is still waiting for the official assignment as a firefighter even as she is acting as temporary replacement for Shay.

Dawson (Monica Raymund) has replaced Shay in Firehouse 51 as a temporary paramedic while waiting for her firefighter assignment, which Entertainment Weekly explained is "likely out of guilt for switching places with Shay just moments before a beam fell on her." But Dawson is not working alone as runaway bride Sylvie Brett, played by Kara Kilmer, will give her a hand.

Executive producer Matt Olmstead gave more "Chicago Fire" season 3, episode 2 spoilers to EW as he said that Shay's death will also impact on Severide's relationship with Lindsay.

"She's not the kind of girl-as she expresses in one of the episodes-to sit at a restaurant for 45 minutes waiting for a guy to show up because he's out having a couple of beers with the guys," he said. "She's there for him, that means a lot, and he's able to express things to her that he wouldn't to anybody else in terms of Shay's loss. But it's just not the right time for her, so she's there as a friend, but certainly not as a romantic partner."
