It would look like EA has already given up on the release of "Dead Space 4." However, new interviews and reports prove otherwise.

An article over at Gamespot disproved the rumors, and has assured fans that the 4th instalment is underway.

In terms of an actual release date, the makers of "Dead Space" has not made an official announcement as of writing. However, video game junkies are hoping for a 2017 (if not earlier) release date for the new game.

"The Dead Space series is not dead, and is in fact an "important" IP for publisher Electronic Arts, Visceral Games general manager Steve Papoutsis says. Speaking with Kotaku UK, Papoutsis said there is a lot of love for the series at EA," read the article.

He also mentioned that he would like "Dead Space" to return with a new game soon.

"There's a lot of passion about that franchise, not just from me but from others in the company," he said. "So I think it's an IP that's important for the company. You never know where it's going to go... I'd definitely be excited about what it would be like on this [generation of consoles]," he said.

Other "Dead Space" 4 news claim that the new instalment will feature a very different story from its earlier versions. Some gamers and experts are also speculating that a new "breed" of Necromorphs could be unleashed should the new game debut.

The survival horror RPG first made its debut in 2008, and has managed to start a following because of its interesting gameplay.

As Air Herald reported, "The plot of the game involves an Engineer called Isaac using various combat techniques in an abandoned starship that is constantly attacked by aliens. The antagonists of the game include a particular type of species called 'Necromorphs' who share similarities with zombies."
