The celebrity wedding of the year just happened! The George Clooney wedding to fiance Amal Alamuddin took place in Venice at the Aman Canal Grand Hotel on Saturday, September 27.
Reportedly, the whole hotel staff -- whom George Clooney knows by name, because of 15 years of frequenting the 7 star Aman Canal Grand hotel were asked a sign a nondisclosure agreement to guarantee the privacy of the event. Still, George Clooney wedding details are surfacing! The wedding ceremony was officiated by former Rome mayor Walter Veltroni, and according to Italian news paper, Corriere Della Sera, the place was decked with imported white roses.
The actor and the human rights lawyer also wrote their own vows. Reportedly, the bride and groom stood under an arch of beautiful white roses during the exchanging of vows, with George holding his bride's hand, according to a source for Us Weekly. Cindy Crawford's husband, Rande Gerber was reportedly Clooney's best man. The two had been friends for 20 years, because they have neighboring Los Cabos vacation homes.
Still according to Us Weekly, the ceremony lasted just 20 minutes.
In the reception part of the George Clooney wedding, the guests were serenaded with Nat King Cole's "When I Fall In Love," by a string jazz band. They dined on prosciutto with figs, polenta with wild mushrooms as appetizers, and then sat down for a five course meal by Italian chef Riccardo De Pra, which included delicious lobster risotto.
George Clooney wore a gray suit, while his beautiful bride Amal was wearing a white lace dress bedecked with flowers.
