Chelsea Clinton has given birth to her baby girl, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky on Friday.
A day after, Chelsea confirmed the news via Twitter and Facebook and said that she and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky are "full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky.
Charlotte's grandparents, Bill and Hillary Clinton, are also extremely happy with the arrival of their granddaughter, according to CNN.
A statement released by the doting grandparents read, "We are thrilled to be with our daughter and her husband as they welcome their daughter into the world. Chelsea is well and glowing. Marc is bursting with pride. Charlotte's life is off to a good start."
Charlotte was born at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, ABC News reported.
Meanwhile, prior to the birth of Charlotte, grandmother Hillary already picked out the first book she wants to read to her granddaughter - the classic "Goodnight Moon."
Following Charlotte's birth, both Hillary and Bill had to cancel some of their most important engagements to be with their daughter and granddaughter.
"I hope I get an excused absence. You all know my family just got a little bigger, and I figured I should stay home where I'm really needed," Bill said during his speech via speaker phone.
Meanwhile, Bill also posted a photo with his granddaughter and wife Hillary via Twitter and wrote, "Charlotte, your grandmother @HillaryClinton and I couldn't be happier!"
Hillary also tweeted, "@BillClinton and I are over the moon to be grandparents! One of the happiest moments of our life."
Thousands of people congratulated the Clinton-Mezvinsky family via social media, the NY Daily News noted.
One person even tweeted, "Charlotte will be 2 years old when Hillary Clinton win the presidency in 2016!"
