More and more details about the celebrity wedding of the year are coming out as days pass! After all, it's no small thing to be the most eligible bachelor in Hollywood, and then finally deciding to settle down to married life. Such was the anticipation and media frenzy surrounding the George Clooney wedding to Amal Alammudin that even though the staff at the 7-Star Aman Canal Grande resort were sworn to secrecy, plenty of tidbits are coming out.

According to Italy's Il Gazzettino, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin exchanged their "I dos" at 8:18 pm on Saturday, which was met by a big round of cheers and applause from the guests. A saxophonist, pianist and double bassist serenaded the arrival of the guests for the ceremony.

The couple said "I do" at 8.18pm, prompting huge applause and cheers from the assembled guests, according to Il Gazzettino, which also claimed that a trio of musicians - a saxophonist, pianist and double-bassist - played while guests arrived for the ceremony.

The reception area was bedecked by imported white roses and the guests dined on canapes before a five coure meal by Italian chef Riccardo De Pra, which included lobster risotto, a choice between sea bass and Chianina steak.

There were some touches that make the George Clooney wedding to Amal Alammudin touching and endearing. According to AFP, the actor's hands were shaking so much after the exchange of vows (which they wrote themselves), that he had a bit of a struggle cutting the wedding cake!

One of the guests present, was U2 frontman and Africa advocate Bono, who attended the wedding with his wife Ali Hewson. Bono confirmed that it was indeed, a moving event. Speaking with People, Bono at first joked, "Wedding? What wedding? I was at a bar mitzvah," he said.

"The party was great. It's still going on ... in some people's minds," he then added. "It was very emotional and lovely."

George Clooney wore a gray suit by Armani, while his beautiful bride Amal was wearing a white lace dress bedecked with flowers by Alexander McQueen. The George Clooney wedding guest list included actor Matt Damon, and his wife, supermodel Cindy Crawford, U2 frontman Bono, actress Ellen Barkin, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
