Focus Features chooses March 27, 2015 as "A Little Chaos" release date. Variety reports that the firm, which got the rights for the North American distribution of the period drama, believes that the movie is more of crowd-pleaser than awards-contender.

"I'm very proud of the fact that 'A Little Chaos' found its North American home during its world premiere at TIFF. It's encouraging to see that the film resonated with both audiences and the industry in Toronto," Alan Rickman said. He added that he is excited for "A Little Chaos" release date.

Rickman directed the movie - his second after "The Winter Guest" in 1997. He wrote the screenplay, along with Alison Deegan and Jeremy Brock. He also plays the role of the king in the movie.

"A Little Chaos" stars Kate Winslet and Stanley Tucci. Inside Movies reported that The "Sense and Sensibility" actress plays the role of "Sabine De Barra, a strong-willed 17th-century French gardener who challenges sexual and class barriers when she vies to design and build one of the main showcase attractions at King Louis's XIV's new palace at Versailles. Using wit and intelligence, she attracts the attention of the court's renowned landscape architect, André Le Nôtre ("The Drop"'s Matthias Schoenaerts), and comes face to face with the Sun King himself, who demands the gardens become a paradise of unrivaled beauty.

Winslet told Toronto Sun, "To play a woman, who was very unique of that time and doing what she does in a man's world, is something I'm a big believer in. And it was just really, really wonderful to play this passionate woman."

For Rickman, the "Little Woman" star "gets better and better. She comes totally prepared. Her sense of humor is always there. Her commitment to any emotional demand is right there. She's fantastic."
