Rich Homie Quan's father, Corey Lamar, was shot four times during a robbery incident that took place on Monday morning.
Lamar was at a barber shop in Atlanta when a robbery took place critically injuring him. He was immediately brought to a hospital where he is currently recovering at, according to Aceshowbiz.
The robbers were initially targeting the barber shop found Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway but eventually shot Lamar as he was there, Viral Global News noted.
Rich immediately went to the hospital where his father underwent surgery and is still there waiting for him to wake up, the same publication noted.
Around the same time, the rapper released his first joint project with Birdman and Young Thug called "Rich Gang: The Tour, Part 1," Rap-Up reported.
Rich, Birdman and Young Thug will start their tour this coming November and in a previous interview with MTV News, Birdman dished, "I met Thug, flew him to LA to come see me and we connected from there, then Quan came to the table."
"I always believed in unity, that's always been my thing. They were already working on a project, them two, and I said, 'Let's do it together. Let me take it to the next level for y'all, cause I see y'all got the potential and the talent," he added.
Young Thug added, "I feel like this is one of the best things I've ever done. I thank God first and foremost. There's an element that this tour and mixtape will be gigantic. I just clicked with Birdman because I always dreamed of being down with him in some way. This is just the beginning though."
The trio's tour will commence in Shreveport, LA and will make its way to New Orleans, Memphis, Atlanta and Miami.
Later this fall, Cash Money will release the second Rich Gang album which will see Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan collaborating with other artists.
