New updates for the Crash Bandicoot reboot video game have been revealed.

It seems that Sony is planning to release the Crash Bandicoot reboot alongside two new games.

MotoringCrunch has reported that Naughty Dog is planning on creating several games for the PS4. These games include a Crash Bandicoot reboot, The Last of Us 2, Uncharted 4, and a new Jak and Daxter game.

"We definitely have another project on the scale of Uncharted in very early pre-production stages," said Naughty Dog's Evan Wells to the magazine. "We have the sizable team that it takes to get something like that off of the ground, but it's got a long runway in front of it. We have a lot of great ideas and some stuff that is already getting everybody jazzed and excited. So, it's a long way off before we can really start talking about it in detail."

Cyberland has also reported that the new Crash Bandicoot title will be exclusive only to PlayStation consoles (PlayStation 3 and 4) as claimed by Naughty Dog, and a possible trailer for new Crash game will be shown at EGX 2014.

Sony Entertainment's Andrew House shared his thoughts on the Crash Bandicoot remake.

"We've started to say that maybe there isn't anything wrong with going back and looking at characters that people still talk about, that were a big part of either their childhood or their youth. I definitely wouldn't close the door on that."

Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer further adds.

"We still have people that worked on the Crash games in the studio. We never forget our past and it'd be great for nostalgic reasons."

Meanwhile, new gameplay details for the Crash Bandicoot reboot game have been revealed.

According to reports from The PlayStation Magazine, Crash Bandicoot's co-creator Andrew Gavin hinted that the new "Crash" game will be an open-world style gameplay.

"Crash needs a total reboot. There's an opportunity to reset the history, and go back to his creation story and the original conflict with Cortex. In that context, you could reprise classic Crash 1 and 2's settings and villains. It would make sense to use a more modern, free-roaming style. I would concentrate on Looney Tunes-esque animation and really addictive action. That's what we did with the original Crash, and there's no reason it couldn't be done today. Given the current Crash games, people forget that he was once cool. Our Crash had a certain whimsical edge to him. Sure, it was goofy - but it wasn't dumb."

Crash Bandicoot was one of Naughty Dogs first breakthrough games in the first PlayStation console back in 1996. Crash Bandicoot is an adventure-platforming game that follows the adventures of an anthropomorphic bandicoot named Crash whose quiet, and simple life is often interrupted by the mad scientist Dr. Neo Cortex as he aspires to rule the world and it's up to Crash and his friends to stop his sinister schemes.

The game has spawned many sequels and spin-off titles such as Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Crash Team Racing, Crash Nitro Kart, Crash Bash and many more.
