Competition is rife among the coaches of 'The Voice' season 7. The first two episodes were filled with bantering among veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as well as newbies Gwen Stefani and Pharell.
The first week helped viewers get used to the new blood on the show - the equally competitive Stefani and Pharell.
The 'Happy' hitmaker was quickly tagged as the nice guy, giving sincere advice and compliments to contestants. The 'Just A Girl' singer, on the other hand, didn't shy away from Levine and Shelton's jokes, using her knowledge in music and fashion to lure contestants into her team.
On episode three, however, the focus shifted to finding the best voice that could help their teams win.
According to Zap2It, the coaches were more careful in pressing their red buttons, worried that they'd fill up all of the team slots. They wouldn't want to miss out on amazing singers later on in the auditions.
So far, each coach has filled out about five of their 12-member teams.
Two of the best performances of the night, Kelli Douglas and Blessing Ofor, ended up in teams Adam and Pharell respectively.
Douglas' soulful performance of 'Danny's Song' reportedly had a touch of Lauryn Hill's stage presence if not her voice. The Maroon 5 frontman used his charms to win her over and it worked!
R&B singer Ofor, who has been blind since his youth, was a four-chair turner. He eventually chose Pharell as his mentor after the four coaches did their best to recruit him into each of their teams.
Another singer who stood out on the third episode of 'The Voice' season 7 was Mia Pfirrman. Her rendition of Katy Perry's 'Unconditionally' made all four mentors press their buttons. She chose Levine as her coach.
John Martin chose Blake Shelton as his coach after confessing that he actually wants to sing cheesy love songs.
Which 'The Voice' season 7 contestant got your attention so far? Which coach do you think got the best singer so far?
