Michael Phelps arrested for DUI on September 30. His blood alcohol level was allegedly almost twice the legal limit. It looks the 29-year-old Olympic swimmer has gotten himself in hot water.

Michael Phelps was pulled over because he was reportedly going 84 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone in Baltimore, Maryland, according to the report of TMZ. When the local authorities pulled him over, they immediately noticed that Phelps was intoxicated.

Phelps was actually driving his white Land Rover when he was spotted speeding by an officer that was assigned to monitor I-395 as he tried to leave Baltimore City. According to what the MdTA Police told WBALTV, with the use of the radar, Phelps was caught speeding through the Fort McHenry Tunnel, which is on the Interstate 95 and got pulled over at I-95 after crossing over lanes.

The officials told TMZ that Michael Phelps was given a field sobriety test and that he failed miserably.

He was arrested and booked for DUI at a nearby station. Moreover, he was also charged for crossing double lane lines and excessive speeding. This will be the internationally renowned swimmer's second DUI charge. His first was back in 2004. Surprisingly, his first DUI charge was also in Maryland.

For his first DUI charge, he was only 19 years old. He pleaded guilty in exchange for an 18-month probation. Apart from the probation, he was also given a fine of $250. Plus, he was ordered by the court to pay $55 in court costs and was also ordered to attend a victim impact panel meeting that was sponsored by Mother Against Drunk Driving.

During his DUI charge 10 years ago, Phelps said, "I recognize the seriousness of this mistake. I've learned from this mistake and will continue learning from this mistake for the rest of my life." It looks like he did not learn enough, though.
