"24: Live Another Day" cast Kiefer Sutherland wants to tell more stories involving Jack Bauer, as it was revealed that the actor and "Game of Thrones" star Kit Harrington had to go through hell filming "Pompeii."
According to New Zealand's Channel 24 website, "24: Live Another Day" cast Kiefer Sutherland is at odds over playing the character again while also obsessed with the idea that there are more stories to tell with Jack Bauer.
"I'm missing Jack already. I can never say never, my biggest fear about Jack was, 'Can we produce the standard the fans have been sued to?' I still feel there are more stories to tell," he said.
The website also cited a Daily Star report where the 47-year-old actor suggested that the production should be in Scotland, where his grandfather traced his roots.
"If the story was right I couldn't say no to making 24 in Scotland. I have strong Scottish roots so I can't deny that it would be special for me, I have Scottish ancestry on both my grandparents' sides so I do feel a connection to the country," he said.
"It has a great medieval feel to it with the castles and all the old architecture. I think that could make for a really dark setting," the actor added.
At the end of last season, Jack Bauer sacrificed himself and was arrested by the Russian. While "24: Live Another Day" cast Kiefer Sutherland had previously said that the perfect ending for Jack Bauer would be to die in the line of duty, the ending opens more doors for sequels.
In another news, "Pompeii" director Paul W.S. Anderson told UK's List that he put "24: Live Another Day" cast Kiefer Sutherland and Kit Harrington through hell during filming.
"If you talk to Kit or Kiefer, they would both tell you the same, it was hellish making the movie," he said. "We had a lot of very unhappy actors. Everyone was very committed to the movie and coming to work. But I think there were times when they weren't happy. They weren't coming in, in the mornings saying, 'Woohoo! Pompeii!' because they were getting ash in their eyes and in their lungs."
