"The Choice", another Nicholas Sparks movie, will soon hit the theaters.
Variety reported that Benjamin Walker and Teresa Palmer will play the lead roles, Travis Parker and Gabby Holland.
The "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" star was seen last in "Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight", an HBO series. Palmer was featured in "Warm Bodies". She has an upcoming movie, "Point Break".
Here is the official summary according to the website of Sparks: "'The Choice' tells the story of a long love affair that begins when Travis Parker and Gabby Holland first met as neighbors in a small coastal town and end up pursuing a relationship that neither could have foreseen. It spans a decade and traces the evolution of a love affair that is ultimately tested by life's most defining events."
"The Choice" is Nicholas Sparks' eighth novel that made it to movie. His first was "The Notebook". Since then, The New York Times best-selling author had changed the way he writes story.
"Now I try to come up with a story that will be dynamic, creative, and interesting both as a book and as a film. Early on I just concentrated on the novel. Because I've had so many films made, and there are certain elements that repeat in my novels (North Carolina, love stories), I now have to think of ways to make those stories original, distinct from one another, in book and film formats. So now I have to take the novel and a potential film into account," he said in an interview by The Daily Beast.
The screenplay adaptation is penned by Bryan Sipe. "The Choice" will be helmed by Ross Katz ("In The Bedroom", "Lost in Translation"), a two-time Academy Award-nominated producer. Production for the Nicholas Sparks movie is set to start this month in Wilmington, North Carolina.
