He is one of the most detested characters in all of the Game of Thrones universe, and it all has to do with a certain infamous wedding that he has hosted in the show. Actor David Bradley may be infamous now as Walder Frey in the Game of Thrones wiki, and for his dastardly betrayal and murder of Catelyn, Rob Stark and company.
But the 72 year old actor can also be seen in great roles in cinema as of late, notably as Argus Filch in the Harry Potter films, and recently as Abe Setrakian in The Strain. British fans might also recognize his roles in Doctor Who and Simon Pegg's The World's End. Recently, the actor who has made a living playing old, miserable characters who do despicable things sat down for an interview with Vulture, and he talked about his roles, the fans he encounters on the streets, and of course, weddings.
In the Game of Thrones wiki, his character will forever be reviled as the murderer of the characters -- who up until that point, were the fan favorites to ascend to the Iron Throne. Bradley reveals that such was the Red Wedding's effect on viewers that he's had all sorts of reactions thrown at him. In the interview with Vulture, he reveals, "When we were shooting the episode, I didn't realize what the repercussions would be. People shouting at me on the street. Or people telling me they couldn't forgive me. Or people sending me YouTube footage of people watching the series [without knowing] what was going to happen."
The actor also reveals that fans have not seen the last of his character yet, and there will be much more to add to his character description in the Game of Thrones wiki once he makes an appearance on the show again. Bradley himself, knows, and actually think it's just right that his character will get what is coming to him. "I spoke to [showrunner] David Benioff, and he said, "You'll be back, you'll be back." But not in this season, not the one they're doing now. Not for season five. But he's got more to do in the books, and I hope he'll be back at least for some kind of divine retribution, which has to be coming his way at some point. Surely he can't get away with all that" Bradley shares. "I'd like to think he survives just a bit longer for that. I wouldn't be surprised if he's back for season six, but I haven't heard anything definite."
In the meantime, the actor is busy taking some personal time attending -- you guessed it -- weddings. His daughter has recently gotten married, and his son will be tying the know in a few week's time as well. "The invitations haven't dried up altogether since the Red Wedding!" Bradley says.
