iOS Trojan Virus Targeted Pro-democracy Protesters As Attackets Suspected To Come From China!

Cyber security experts have discovered a computer virus that detects on Apple's iOs operating system for iPad and iPhone, and they think it is aiming pro-democracy rallyist in Hong Kong. They saw this spyware while examining the same Google Inc's malware targeting Android operating system last week that is meant for Hong Kong pro-democracy protesters. Unknown attackers spread the spyware via WhatsApp for Android, sending dubious links to download the program. It is not clear how iOS gadgets get infected by the Xsser, which is not shown as an app.

Anonymous attackers spread the Android spyware via WhatsApp, sending malicious links to download the program, according to Lacoon.

Michael Shaulove, Lacoon's Chief Executive, Xsser is the most advanced malware used currently in any know iOS users cyber attack. "This is one the most interesting developments we have seen. It's the first real indication that really sophisticated guys are shifting from infecting PCs or laptops to going after iOS devices."

The malware used a code written in Chinese that takes over the server. The fact that it's being used to target protesters and high quality campaign suggests that it came from an attacker in China. Shaulov added, "It is the first time in history that you actually see an operationalized iOS Trojan that is attributed to some kind of Chinese entity."

A trojan is a word used by cyber experts to define malware that penetrates a device, seems to be something harmless. He said that his firm's research team has yet to investigate victims of the iOs Trojan.

On its company blog, Lacoon stated that there is a probability that the attackers might have spread the Trojan in other locations, moreover, to spy on Hong Kong's pro-democracy protesters, "It can cross borders easily, and is possibly being operated by a Chinese-speaking entity to spy on individuals, foreign companies, or even entire governments," they said in a blog post describing their analysis.
