Which tablet device is ideal purchase for consumers? We compare the Nexus 10 and the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 to see which device is better.

In terms of design and display, the Nexus 10 is available only in black color, having a plastic chassis with a display of 10.1 inches (Super PLS TFT). The tablet supports a resolution of 2560x1600pixels, 299ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2. Its dimensions are: 263.9×177.6×8.9mm and weighs 603 grams.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is made up of plastic, and in the right side, users will find the USB port, the pen slot, the speaker grille and the SIM card slot. On top of the edge, there’s a power button and the IR ports. The tablet has a Super clear LCD display with the size of 12.2 inches, a resolution of 2560x1600pixels and 247ppi. Its dimensions are 295.6x204x8 mm, and it weighs 753 grams.

For the hardware and OS, the Nexus 10 is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Cortex A15 and has an Exynos 5250 chipset and a Mali-T604 GPU. It offers two variants of unexpandable internal memories of 16/32 GB and it runs on the Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS, upgradable to the 4.4.2 (KitKat)version and has 2GB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 has a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Krait 400 processor, featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and an Adreno 330 GPU. This tablet has 32GB of internal memory expandable up to 64GB, and a 64GB variant. The tablet runs on the Android 4.4-KitKat OS with TouchWiz UI and 3GB of RAM.

For battery usage and camera specs, the Nexus 10 has a non-removable Li-Po 9000mAh battery which withstands 500 hours in stand by mode, and 9 hours when using multimedia. The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 has a non-removable Li-Ion battery with the capacity of 9500mAh, which allows users to talk for up to 12 hours, or to listen to music in 131 hours.

The Google tablet has a 5MP camera on the back, with 2592x1936pixels, autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection and video recording 1080p@30fps, and a 1.9MP camera on the front, which is perfect for selfies.

The Samsung tablet on the other hand comes with an 8MP primary camera with 3264x2448pixels, LED flash, autofocus, face and smile detection, noise control and with video recording 1080p@30fps capabilities. The other camera is 2MP and it also records videos 1080p@30fps.

In addition, the Nexus 10 has microUSB v2.0, DLNA, Wi-Fi 802.11, Wi-Fi direct, A2DP Bluetooth, while the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 has a USB-micro USB v3, dual band, hotspot, Wi-Fi 802.11, direct Wi-Fi and Blutooth-v4 with A2DP.

The Nexus 10 16GB WiFi variant cast $336 in amazon.com, the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 32GB variant cost $698 also in amazon.com.
