Michael Bisping's next fight would not have happened if his fight against Cung Le at UFC Macau ended in a loss. The British middleweight contender also believes that his last opponent "tried to cheat him out of a victory."
Michael Bisping's next fight will be against former Strikeforce 185-pound champion Luke Rockhold on November 7, in Sydney, Australia. Prior to the upcoming bout, Bisping faced mixed martial arts veteran Cung Le at UFC Macau in August.
The British fighter won the bout via fourth round TKO, while Le was recently suspended after testing positive for human growth hormones in the mandatory drug testing.
In a report by MMA Fighting, Bisping believes that he would not be able to react accordingly if he lost his last fight, given the most recent turn of events involving his last opponent.
"Fortunately, I won the fight," Bisping stated. "If I lost, I would be outraged and would have more to say. I don't want to kick a man while he's down. He has to explain this to his kids. Hopefully, this will be a lesson for him and everyone: this is not a road one should take."
Prior to his last fight, Michael Bisping has not had a good run in the UFC. He has only won two out of his last five fights, with the most recent one ending via technical decision, after his opponent Alan Belcher was rendered unable to continue due to an accidental poke in the eye.
"The Count" knew what would happen to him if his string of bad luck carries on. A loss to Cung Le would have made Michael Bisping's next fight non-existent, and the 35-year old fighter was fully aware of the would-be circumstance.
"He tried to cheat me out of a victory," Bisping said. "If I would have lost to him, I wouldn't be fighting Luke Rockhold in the main event, people would probably be asking me to retire."
"He tried to cheat me out of a lot," he added.
