Which smartphone is worth the purchase? We compare Apple's iPhone 5 and the Nokia Lumia 928 to see which device is better.

For the design and display, the Nokia Lumia 928 has an AMOLED model display measuring 4.5 inches that can render a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels. It weighs 162 grams and comes with the following dimensions: 133 x 68.9 x 10.1 mm.

Apple's iPhone 5 has an IPS LCD display that is LED-backlit which measures 4 inches and can render a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels. It smaller (dimensions: 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm) and lighter (weighing only 112 grams) than its competitor.

In terms of hardware and OS, the Nokia Lumia 928 is a Krait processor (dual core working at 1.5 GHz) that is paired with the Snapdragon MSM8960 chipset from Qualcomm. It supports a 1GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage (there is no microSD slot, meaning that the memory is not expandable) and runs on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 (upgradable to Windows Phone 8 Amber).

Meanwhile, the iPhone 5 is powered by a Swift processor (dual core clocked at 1.3 GHz) that is paired with the Apple A6 chipset. It comes with 1GB of RAM but it can be purchased with multiple options of internal storage space: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB (there is no microSD card slot, hence the memory is not expandable). The Apple smartphone runs on the iOS 6 (upgradable to iOS 7).

In terms of battery usage and camera specs, the Nokia Lumia 928 has a battery unit that sports a Li-Ion with a capacity of 2000 mAh that is estimated to last around 16 hours and 20 minutes of talking time (or 80 hours of music play), while iPhone 5’s battery is a Li-Po 1440 mAh unit that last around 8 hours of talking time on 3G (or 40 hours of music play).

Both smartphones have a 8MP rear facing cameras, but the iPhone 5 features only LED flash and autofocus, while the Nokia Lumia 928 comes with a lot of features like: Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, optical image stabilization and xenon flash.

Regarding the front-facing camera, the iPhone 5 comes with a 1.2MP one, while the Nokia Lumia 928 has a slightly better 1.3MP camera.

Nokia Lumia 928 cost around $399.99, while the iPhone 5 (16 GB) is around $459.99.
