Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson's WWE Raw appearance was quite a show as he took on show villain Rusev.
E! News commented that Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson's WWE Raw appearance showed that even if the action star is focused mostly on movies, he still got what it takes "to kick some butt in the wrestling ring!"
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's WWE Raw appearance occurred last Monday at the Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
"Much to delight of the cheering fans, the Rock took on Rusev, a controversial anti-American character played by Miroslav Barnyashev, and Lana, Rusev's equally controversially manager who is played by C.J. Perry," the piece noted.
Before punches where exchanged, however, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's WWE Raw appearance won't be complete without his trademark line, "The Rock has come back to Brooklyn!"
Lana didn't like the interruption and proceeded to tell him what she thinks. Rusev also got a word in as he called The Rock as "a piece of garbage" before warning him to step down the ring at the risk of being crushed.
"Is that what you think? You think you're just gonna crush The Rock? It doesn't matter what you think," The Rock spat.
"Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am the Jabroni-beating, pie-eating, trailblazing, eyebrow-raising, talking is done, you're out of your class, no sleep 'til Brooklyn, The Rock whoops your ass!" he said.
But Sean Reuter of Cage Side Seats said that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's WWE Raw appearance represented both the positive and negative side of entertainment wrestling.
He called Rock as "a flashpoint for what's right and wrong with wrestling, and especially the promotion he's meant so much to over the last almost twenty years WWE."
"To my mind, there are several valid critiques of Rock's appearance last night - and note that I said appearance, not performance, because I think Johnson nailed the performance. It may not have been your cup of tea, but this wasn't a Brie Bella promo," he wrote.
