Will the sequel to the highly successful Iron Man franchise happen or not? Lead star Robert Downey Jr. has kept everyone in suspense with his conflicting statements about the possibility of a new Iron Man movie. And the latest Iron Man 4 news is nothing less than confusing!
Robert Downey Jr. recently made a guest appearance on Ellen Show to promote his latest dramatic movie The Judge. But that hasn't stopped reporters and talk show hosts from asking the actor questions about the latest Iron Man 4 news. In the said appearance on the morning talk show, the actor pretty much revealed that Iron Man 4 is indeed happening! "I know there's gonna be a bunch more Marvel movies and...they have big ideas of how to do it best, and we're in the middle of negotiations..." De Generes then prompts the actor, "So...'yes,'"
"Okay, yes," confirmed Robert Downey Jr. This is, of course, in stark contrast to the statement made by Robert Downey Jr. quashing everyone's dreams of seeing Tony Stark again on the big screen when he said, that "there's nothing in the pipe," and "there's no plan for a fourth Iron Man".
Then in a stranger twist of events for Iron Man 4 news, the Avengers star appeared later that evening on the The Late Show With David Letterman and denied that the Iron Man 4 movie is happening any time soon. "There [are] no plans for an Iron Man 4," the actor said.
He was then asked by Letterman why there were no plans. "That is a valid question. Like it hasn't made enough money? Yeah, I guess they have too much money or something. There is no script for Iron Man 4, but I think there's a plan," the 49 year old actor stated.
Then later on, the star retracted again! "Just between us, no. But, I'm going to do other stuff with Marvel. I'm still going to be involved with Marvel and there's going to be plenty of fun stuff to happen," Robert Downey Jr. said.
So is there an Iron Man 4 movie? Stay tuned as we cover any Iron Man 4 news that comes up!
