Gwyneth Paltrow Blog: 'Iron Man' Actress Responds To Martha Stewart Saying 'She Should Just Be Quiet'; Fires Back By Hiring Martha's Former CEO For Goop?

The Iron Man recently appeared on Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit on October 7, to talk about her rising lifestyle empire Goop, which is a lifestyle website that has garnered such divisive opinions from all who know about it. For those who dislike the Gwyneth Paltrow blog Goop, they see it as elitist and out of touch with reality.

Very recently, a controversial statement came out from the original lifestyle queen herself, Martha Stewart, on what she thinks about the Gwyneth Paltrow blog Goop. Stewart was quoted as saying,"She just needs to be quiet. She's a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart."

It would be notable that Martha Stewart had kinder words for another actress who also recently launched her own lifestyle website. Blake Lively's Preserve, is also in the mold of the Gwyneth Paltrow blog Goop, in that it is chockfull of recommendations on what to eat, wear, buy, cook etc. Maybe because the Gossip Girl actress actually consulted Martha Stewart before launching her own lifestyle website?

In any case, Gwyneth Paltrow has responded to the scathing Martha Stewart statement during Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit.

"First of all, no one has ever said anything bad about me before, so I'm shocked and devastated. I'll try to recover," Gwyneth quipped.

"If I'm really honest, I'm so psyched that she sees us as competition. I really am," she continued.

The actress has hit back some what against Martha Stewart, with her own strategic business move. Gwyneth has announced just this week that Goop has new CEO, and it is none other than Lisa Gersh, who used to be the CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

Asked on what would be in store now that Lisa Gersh is on board as the Gwyneth Paltrow blog's CEO, the actress shares, "We have a lot of exciting plans. Now that Goops has become this amazing collective of fascinating women, who I'm learning so much from."
