Serena Williams' Twitter fued with Carolyn Wozniacki seemed to be over even as the tabloid samper for a background story on the apparent spat. Meanwhile, Venus William's younger sister's No. 1 ranking could be in danger because of her multiple injuries.

On October 9, Serena Williams' Twitter left many wondering when she wrote: "Dear @CaroWozniacki I'm sorry for calling you a liar (even though u did exaggerate ) I love u. I am the meanest friend. I hope I get better."

Then Caroline Wozniacki replied: "@serenawilliams it's okay, I forgive you! missing my girl!! Love you!"

Serena Williams further said: "@CaroWozniacki I'm sorry I said so many things to you. You were right, I was wrong. Ok. Is my apologize enough??? Love u!!! "

"@serenawilliams haha yes!! Thank you!! " the tennis star replied.

But USA Today said that Serea Williams Twitter feud with Carolyn Wozniacki could be fake.

"If this is real, it's absurdly juvenile. But without anything resembling a feud in any of their timelines before today, I'm going to operate under the completely baseless assumption that this is some sort of meta gag on all of us," Chris Chase wrote.

Meanwhile, Tennis World reported that injuries might cost Serena Williams her No. 1 rank after dominating the sport going on four years now.

It said that Serena Williams had to ward off worthy opponents who want to take her crown.

"The three years that Serena's finished the season as the world no.1, she's had to face challenges from worthy opponents," it said. "Each of the three times, Williams ensured that the rankings never slipped out of her hands, sealing her superiority over her rivals in more than one way."

However, Maria Sharapova could take over the No. 1 ranking this year, " given the precariousness of her health." Serena Williams already pulled out from the Wuhan Open due to injuries.
