"Sherlock" cast Benedict Cumberbatch took the London Film Festival by storm as the actor proclaimed that he's never joining Twitter.
In a report from BBC, "Sherlock" cast Benedict Cumberbatch appearance at the red carpet event for this year's BFI London Film Festival was greeted with "hundreds of screaming fans."
The actor's apperance is in connection with her portrayal as mathematecian Alan Turing in "The Imitation Game."
"To be asked to play such a phenomenal human being - a true English hero - is a great honor and comes with a great responsibility," Cumberbatch told BBC, adding that he had to do research about the mathematecian since he knew very little about the man.
"That's the tragedy of this man's extraordinary life - his achievements and his heroism and his criminal prosecution are not well known. He should be on the front cover of text books," he added.
Meanwhile, "Sherlock" cast Benedict Cumberbatch joined the Q and A with Telegraph to interact with fans.
He kicked off the interaction with this gem: "Thanks for tuning in. Sorry, can't function in 140 characters #BenedictWillNeverJoinTwitterPhew!"

Although the "Imitation Game" is generating critical buzz, particularly Benedict Cumberbatch's portrayal of the gay genius, he said it's too early to be talking about the Oscars.
"It would be amazing, but to be honest it's so premature that it would almost be futile to talk about it," he told HELLO!magazine per RTE. "I understand why it always happens at festivals, but I just got my suit back from the dry cleaners from this year's Oscars... There's lots of films to see before we start going, 'Oooh, blah, blah."
