Floyd Mayweather's next fight may have Manny Pacquiao as one of the possible opponents, as guaranteed by "The Money Team" through Floyd Sr. "Money's" father also claimed that his son was never scared of taking the fight against "Pacman."
The only guarantee so far regarding Floyd Mayweather's next fight is that the reigning pound-for-pound king of boxing is certain to take to bouts in the coming year, to fulfill his six-fight deal with television network Showtime, which began in 2013.
However, in an interview with Fight Hype, Floyd Mayweather Sr. guarantees that the highly clamored mega fight between his son and eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao will happen sooner than later.
"Man, I'm pretty sure that if don't nothing else happen, I'm pretty sure he's gonna get Pacquiao...it's gonna happen," the elder Mayweather said. "That fight's gonna happen. Trust me."
Mayweather Sr. also claimed that Pacquiao, who may possibly be the opponent for Floyd Mayweather's next fight, is a "tailor-made" match-up.
"Pacquiao is tailor-made for Floyd," Mayweather Sr. added. "He's tailor-made to eat the right hand all day long."
The 61-year old former fighter was highly confident about this fight happening, that he believes it will happen for "Money's" 49th career fight. Mayweather Jr. currently holds an immaculate record of 47-0.
"Well, it might be number 49. Floyd's gonna kick his little ass," Mayweather Sr. claimed.
Fans and members of the media alike place the blame on Floyd Jr.'s side, most of them noting that the undefeated fighter is "scared" to take the fight, mainly to keep an unblemished win-loss slate.
Floyd Sr., as expected, immediately dispelled such claims.
"Well, a lot of people are going to say, "Floyd was scared of Pacquiao," Mayweather Sr. explained. "Floyd was this, that, and the other." Floyd is not scared of Pacquiao, man. Believe me as I tell you today. Floyd done beat m**********rs that done beat Pacquiao."
