Floyd Mayweather Sr., the father of the undefeated champion, backs up the claim of a Mayweather-Pacquiao being possible and according to him it is "definitely going to happen."
Mayweather still has two remaining fights under Showtime and according to the champ, he will be retiring after that. That would have to mean that both camps will only be given two chances for the fight to push through.
Papa Floyd believes that the fight is happening. He said "That fight's gonna happen. Trust me. That fight's definitely gonna happen. It's a fight for the world, man, right there. It's the biggest fight that has ever been in life, so like I said man, that fight's gonna happen. I'ma tell you right now, he never told me the fight's gonna happen, but I'ma tell you, the fight's gonna happen. You mark my words and we'll see. And it needs to happen. Just like Ali and Joe Frazier, or Ali and George Foreman, something like that, man, it's one of those fights like that. The world wants to see it and they'll want to see it again when Floyd beats Pacquiao. I'm pretty sure Floyd is gonna make it look where people are going to want to see it again, because I'm just saying, Floyd's gonna pick Pacquiao apart, man."
The Mayweather-Pacquiao has been looming for the longest time now and many had been asking whether it will really happen.
Just recently, the Philippine boxing superstar was challenging the American world champion to "fight me" instead of setting terms.
Pacquiao told AFP "He's all talk. Until now he has not yet agreed to fight me. Instead of blabbing, he should face me atop the ring."
Currently, Pacquiao is preparing to defend his World Boxing Organization welterweight title against another undefeated American, Chris Algieri which will be happening in Macau this coming November.
According to Pacquaio, great fighters do not hide away from challenges and faces them instead. He said "I'm tired of his alibis. If he really wants to fight me, he knows how to reach me. We can fight anytime, anywhere."
If this fight is really going happen, it is going be one hell of a great fight.
