An emotional Nicole Kidman said her late father was an amazing man as Keith Urban's wife couldn't hold back her tears during her first interview since the death of Dr. Antony Kidman.

Jackie Henderson of KIIS FM's "Kyle & Jackie O" show on Friday talked about the passing of Dr. Antony Kidman and the already emotional Nicole Kidman managed to say about her father: "He was an amazing man. We have the tightest family, we really do."

But then Keith Urban's wife was obviously still grieving and the show's hosts had to segue into a song because an emotional Nicole Kidman was already crying.

The interview actually started off on a happy note as Jackie O asked about the actress' daughter Kitty's upcoming fourth birthday on December 10. It was then that the "Grace of Monaco" star said that Nicole Kidman's father was born on the same day.

The actress then thanked people who came to the funeral and those who sent their sympathies in the light of Nicole Kidman's father's death.

"I have to say, so many people did reach out, it's the greatest thing," she said per MailOnline. "I used to be like 'oh I don't want to intrude, it's awkward,' and now having been on the other side of it, it's so beautiful when people do it...card or call or anything, it really does [mean a lot]."

Previously, a report from tabloid National Enquirer, through gossip site Radar Online claimed that Nicole Kidman's father's death and burial caused a rift between her and her children.

Reportedly, Isabella and Connor Cruise, her adopted children with Tom Cruise, were nowhere in sight when their grandfather, Dr. Antony Kidman, was buried on September 18.

"It must have been crushing for Nicole not to have Connor and Isabella there. I think it's sad the kids stayed away at Nicole's time of need," a source told the tabloid.

Dr. Antony Kidman died of a heart attack while he was in Singapore visiting Nicole Kidman's sister. He was a clinical psychologist and Director of the Health Psychology Unit at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital.
