Marvel's "Guardians Of The Galaxy" was a hit when it was released in theaters over the summer.
The characters of the movie are now expected to come to life at this year's New York Comic-Con, which officially began yesterday and is set to go on until the 12th, according to MTV News.
So far, there's already been several people successfully pulling off their "Guardians of the Galaxy" cosplay at the New York Comic-Con, and they've kindly displayed their love for the movie on Twitter.
Fans of "Guardians of the Galaxy," especially those who went all out for NY Comic-Con, will be beyond excited to know that Marvel will be making an animated series for Disney XD focusing on the characters of the movie, according to Variety.
The Marvel Television produced show will reportedly star Peter Quill as Star-Lord.
"This is a very exciting time for the Marvel Animation Studio as we get to explore the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe by developing the first-ever 'Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy' animated series. After starring in the biggest movie of 2014, everyone wants more of Star-Lord and his crew-now they'll get it," stated Jeph Loeb, head of Marvel Television.
The series is set to premiere in 2015 while the sequel for the successful action-hero movie will hit theaters in July 2017, according to E! News.
"The movie and franchise quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. We're looking forward to working with the great team at Marvel Television to deliver an engaging animated series that fans can enjoy each week," stated Marc Buhaj, senior VP, programming and general manager, Disney XD.
