Before his prison sentence, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Apollo Nida predicted that his marriage with his wife Phaedra Parks wouldn't last, stating that he was "salty" about the mother of two not attending his sentencing during an interview with Atlanta's B100 radio station.
It seems that Nida, who is reportedly serving eight years in prison after pleading guilty to federal fraud charges in May, according to The Daily Mail, may have been right with his prediction.
The RHOA cast member has reportedly decided to end things with the father of her two sons.
"Phaedra has retained an attorney with the intent of amicably ending her marriage," Parks' rep Steve Honig told the NY Daily News in a statement.
He added, "Phaedra is very relieved this fiasco is over."
This is reportedly the second time that Apollo Nida is serving time in prison.
He previously served time between 2003 to 2009 for car theft charges, according to E! News. Even before Nida's sentencing, things had been rocky for the couple as Apollo had reportedly been "partying every single night," according to a source for the entertainment website.
"When he does speak to Phaedra, it's always about money. He owes a huge debt in restitution and he wants to know if she's going to help with him with it. 'Are you going to give me money?' is always his question. he still wants her financial support," stated the source.
Amidst her impending divorce to Apollo Nida, Phaedra Parks is looking to focus on the more important things in her life.
"She is putting all of her energy into ensuring the well-being of her two children and making decisions that are in their best interests. This situation has put a tremendous strain on Phaedra and her family, and she is working hard to bring back a sense of normalcy to everyone's lives," Honig stated.
