"The Fault In Our Stars" full movie was a box-office surprise.

What made "The Fault In Our Stars" full movie successful?
Michael H. Weber, who wrote the film adaptation along with Scott Neustadter, told The Hollywood Reporter, "I think moviegoers want stories and characters that feature reality over heightened reality. Hopefully the success of [Fault] will open the door for more stories that resemble the modern young adult experience."
The movie is as successful as the book. The Independent wrote that it is the bestselling title in the UK - on all formats. It has sold over nine million copies globally and has been translated into almost 50 different languages.
John Green, who is at the top spot of the New York Times bestseller list, drew inspiration from a young girl named Esther Earl when he was writing the book. She was a friend who died of thyroid cancer at 16.
"John knew, intimately and deeply, what Esther had gone through. She had seen a lot in a short amount of time. Being true to Esther was his priority," said the narrator, Hazel Lancaster.
