The Chicago marathon news revealed plenty of interesting stories including a man on the run from the police who tried to blend into the crowd to evade his captors. Meanwhile, the injured runners recovered quite nicely and took time to see the sights.

The DNA Info dished out the latest Chicago marathon news when it said that Bryan Duffy, 29, joined the runners while being chased by the police along State Street.

Reportedly, the police wanted to talk to Duffy when he acted suspiciously while digging around flower pots. As they were approaching, the suspect immediately scampered toward the crowd.

"Officers found an Altoids box with 10 capsules of suspected MDMA (also known as ecstasy or Molly) and a wad of bills totaling $531," the site said.

He was charged with possession of controlled substance, resisting arrest and, for running into the crowd, putting the runners in the Chicago marathon at risk.

The Chicago marathon news from Guardian LV claimed that several runners were in serious condition as they tried to tackle the 26.2 mile route.

"While thousands of participants were able to cross the finish line and celebrate the accomplishment of their victory, hundreds of others were in need of medical care, hospitalization, and even CPR," it said.

In fact, a 59-year-old male runner was rushed to the hospital after collapsing on Sunday night and was observed to be in critical condition. Another runner, a 29-eyar-old man, also collapsed at the seventh mile mark and had to be resuscitated.

Meanwhile, the Chicago marathon news from CBS revealed that most of the runners only experienced soreness and tiredness and recovering after a grueling race.

One of the runners, Elizabeth, said that the more than a million spectators were really a big help to give her the extra boost, particularly on the last two-tenths of the rest which forced the runners to go uphill.

"It was really loud and you were never really by yourself," she said of the spectators. "It makes it exciting and gives you more motivation to keep going."
