"Self Promotion" casting news: Alexandra Krosney plays the role of Katie Preston.

Yes, she was Kristin, the eldest daughter of Mike (played by Tim Allen) in the first season of "Last Man Standing". Amanda Fuller replaced her in the second season for creative reasons. Krosney also made previous appearances in "Psych", "Criminal Minds", and "Nikita".

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story centers on hardworking assistant, Katie. Things become so messed up when she finds out that her witchy boss is missing. Thinking that she will turn out to be the prime suspect, Katie covers up the crime scene and begins to call the shots. She also goes becoming a CSI to seek for the truth to achieve vindication.

Another "Self Promotion" casting news: Nichole Bloom of "Shameless" is included in the dark comedy pilot, Deadline reported. She plays as Winter, Katie's law student roommate. She will be the one to help Katie plan a strategy to vindicate her.

Den of Geek said that former "Scrubs" star Zach Braff will return to TV but not as an actor but as a director. He also penned, directed, and starred in "Garden State", a comedy-drama movie released in 2004 and premiered in the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. He received WGA nomination for this film for Best Original Screenplay. "Garden State" bagged the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature and received the Best First Screenplay nomination.

Braff also received awards like the Best Directorial Debut from the National Board of Review and the Breakthrough Director from the Hollywood Film Festival. He also won the Most Promising Filmmaker plum from the Chicago Film Critics Association. He also debuted in Broadway in "Bullets over Broadway".

Mark Bianculli ("The Waiting") will write the pilot of "Self Promotion". Executive producer is Steve Yokey ("Awkwards").
