Fans were made to believe that Academy award-winning actress Cate Blanchett will be appearing in Tim Burton's 'Mary Poppins' remake because of a poster that circulated online.

The clamor started when a movie poster appeared online featuring the 'Blue Jasmine' star in a black Victorian dress walking down a cobblestone street. Sam Riley has also been pegged as Bert the chimneysweep.

This poster, however, is most probably fake, made by a fan of Blanchett and the Walt Disney classic film.

According to Guardian Liberty Voice, although the poster is just fan-made, Cate Blanchett and Angelina Jolie's sidekick in 'Maleficent' Sam Riley are still rumored to appear in the film.

Tim Burton will reportedly helming the reboot, which has critics a bit concerned. The eccentric director's attempt at classical remakes, 'Alice In Wonderland' and 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory,' were met with mixed reviews.

With the 'Nightmare Before Christmas' director in charge of this reboot, it would most likely take a darker turn, just like what he did with 'Alice In Wonderland.' The acclaimed director is also well-known for utilizing dark humor in his films.

Guardian LV further reported that Burton will not be basing his version on the Disney film but from the original novel, which was "not necessarily morbid, but rather much more grounded with a sense of adult-themed gravitas."

Another question raised is whether or not the 'Edward Scissorhands' creator will once again cast close friend Johnny Depp and partner Helena Bonham Carter in the 'Mary Poppins' remake.

No confirmation has been issued about Tim Burton, Cate Blanchett and Sam Riley's involvement in the film.

The 'Sweeney Todd' helmer is currently working on 'Big Eyes' which surprisingly doesn't include Depp or Bonham Carter in its lineup. Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz star in the Oscar-buzzed film.

What do you think will happen in Tim Burton's 'Mary Poppins' remake? Do you think Cate Blanchett is the best choice for the flying nanny?
